We the honor of hosting NYT Bestseller, Tim Tyson, author of The Blood of Emmett Till and Blood Done Sign My Name, and a Scholar in Residence at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, as our guest speaker on Wednesday, May 21, at the Rialto Theater in Raleigh. He was joined by Reverend Elijah McDavid, a dynamic speaker from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
McDavid, originally from Virginia, is a magna cum laude graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta and a graduate of Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where he has grown the congregation from 500 to 1,500 members in a relatively short time.
Both speakers addressed the topic of Faith and Democracy. Thank you to everyone who attended. For those who were unable to join us, we have included a video of the event below.
